Fiduciary Services
Conservatorship is a legal term that means one in whom property or power is entrusted for the benefit of another. In simpler terms, we serve our clients by managing their property and assets on their behalf and make our decisions solely to benefit their needs. Usually this takes place through a legal appointment from a county court when it’s been determined that a person needs the assistance of or protection of a Conservator.

Conservatorship laws in Idaho allow the courts to intervene when a person is vulnerable to exploitation or has lost capacity due to injury, illness, or disability in order to protect their assets from being wasted or stolen. As a Conservator we provide the following services:

  • Bill Pay
  • Supervise investment and banking accounts
  • Managing/selling real estate, and personal property
  • Preparing tax returns
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Apply for medical or financial benefits
  • Annual accounting of assets filed with the courts

While many Conservatorships focus on protecting older individuals, we also serve many families with minor children as well as individuals who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The petition to grant a Conservatorship can be initiated by anyone who is interested in the welfare of a person who needs protection or assistance, not just immediate family members. We regularly become involved with people after they’ve had a significant health event and are no longer able to manage their financial affairs independently or make informed life decisions
